The holidays have been good. I love the smell of fresh baked cookies through the house and Christmas music lightly playing in the background, who doesn't this time of year? I know Thanksgiving was last month but I just can't help but think of all the things I'm thankful for lately. It really has been long overdue since I really thought of all the blessings in my life.
I have come to love our tiny tree with a simple bow on top because everything else we tried was too heavy for it. I love being curled up in the softest blanket I own on my couch. Sometimes I get lucky and there will be snow gently falling outside. You know the kind of falling snow where as soon as you look at it it makes you contemplate and wonder and feel a sense of peace. And I am so grateful for the family that I do have even if they do not know me as well I would like to be known. And I am grateful that I have a mother who will laugh with me about our leaking roof in our kitchen because our landlord forgot to shovel off the snow from our roof. It is quite funny, now there is a water stain left on one of our ceiling tiles in the kitchen. Oh well, it's better to have a leaky roof than no roof at all! And little inconveniences like this always strengthen the bond between mom and I, she's one of my great friends because of many things like this endured together and I am SO incredibly grateful for her. I am grateful for the cute little Christmas lights we strung along our porch. And I am so grateful for the incredible friends I have in my life who truly see me for what I am, the good and bad, and have resolved to love me for life. And of course I am grateful for the incredible boyfriend I have who also happens to be one of my best friends and even though he may not understand every part of me he is more appreciated and valiant than he himself probably even realizes, a real life prince, and for me there is no one else. I am deeply grateful for the beautiful love story that Jesus will continue to unfold between us for the rest of our lives, and no, I am not afraid to say for the rest of our lives and even for that fact I am severely grateful.
mmm I love you life. Not because you are easy but because all these things I mentioned make you worth it. Because the beautiful things within the pain of it make the beautiful things that much more beautiful, and for this, I find myself grateful once again.

Beautiful man
Beautiful God
You are more than worth my time
You are more than worth these longings in my heart left unfulfilled...for a time
Take it all just give me Jesus
All my devotion belongs to this man
I get to love You through whatever comes, what a privilege
I get to love You through whatever comes, how sweet it is
